Upgrading to the 10/27/82 revision of the IBM BIOS ROM requires:
1. Different settings of motherboard switch block SW2.
2. Due to bugs, that all four motherboard RAM banks be populated.
   
Trantor T130B:
It is reported that if a ROM is to be fitted to the ROM-less version of the card, that a missing PAL chip also needs to be fitted.
   
Compaq Portable motherboard:
Upgrading to revision C of the motherboard BIOS ROM requires:
1. Different settings of motherboard switches - see here.
   
Olivetti M24 (AT&T PC 6300):
A ROM upgrade may require different PAL chips - see here.
